Dear patient friends of mine,
You guys are some of the most patient people I know. you've got to be, you're my friends. I mean, you email me, write to me and what have you gotten in return? Not too much. It's not that I don't love each and every one of you. Really. I'd like to blame it on work. You see, I spend far too many hours each and every day staring at a computer screen and responding to a seemingly endless stream of emails. By the time I get home, I really don't want to type any more emails, and lately I've been too lazy to pick up a pen and write.
So I just wanted to say thank you for writing, and sooner rather than later I will actually get around to writing back. In the mean time I do appreciate the death threats. They make me laugh. I especially appreciate the rabid pack of dingoes that I got in the mail last week, that was especially creative.
Lazy as always,
Jason
Share and share alike
It really makes it a lot easier to pull off a site redesign when there are so many people willing to share their talents. Rather than mucking around any further with my own half-assed attempt at javascript I found
this great script to do the conversion for me (at least until I can put something together on my end). The template owes a lot to
this site of free blogger templates. I'm still likely to continue to poke and tweak until I'm completely satisfied, but this is a big improvement.
Site redesign
Earlier tonight I helped
Gena give her site a bit of a facelift. After that was done I looked at mine and felt unsettlingly inadequate. Not finding the solution promised by the spam I turned to redesigning this old journal. What do you think? I'm working on slapping together a little script to add to the bottom of the column on the right that will embed a continually updated list of current news pulled from some rss sources.
I'd finish the code, but at this point me mucking around in much more javascript isn't going to lead to happy places.
Best office banter yet.
At work today, overheard one male coworker talking to another:
I wish we could take a nap.
<awkward pause>
I mean not together.
It's times like this that I really wonder about the sanity of some of my coworkers.
Happy Birthday Gena!
In case anyone didn't know,
today is Gena's birthday. She is to be adored, praised, and hailed at all times (in other words, treat her like royalty, except there's really no need to bow). Also, be sure to sing happy birthday to her when you see her!
